Vietnam Television (VTV) is a government agency, a state broadcaster which main duties are: informing and disseminating the Communist Party’s orientations and guidelines, and the state policies and legislation; contributing to educate the people and raising their intellectual level, enriching the people’s spiritual life with television programs and other journalistic mediums and multi-media communication platforms.

Vietnam Television operations are chartered by the government decree No. 34/2020/NĐ-CP issued on March 17, 2020 defining the functions, duties, authorities and organizational structure of Vietnam Television.

Vietnam Television is a government agency operating as a corporation in terms of funding, staff and wage management. Vietnam Television pays taxes and contributes to the state budget as stipulated by law.
