Welcoming Speech

Ho-Yeol Kwon
President of the Korea Information Society Development Institute
Greetings. I’m Ho-Yeol Kwon, the president of the Korea Information Society Development Institute.

Welcome all of you at home and abroad for visiting the 2021 International Broadcasting Co-Production Conference, which marks its sixth anniversary this year.

The 21st century is an era in which video, not text, is the main axis of social communication.

Competitive broadcast content makes blue-eyed Europeans enjoy the Korean children's play "Mugunghwa has bloomed" and across the Pacific, American morning broadcasts chat over Korean ribs and kimchi.

We hope that the experiences, concerns, and hopes shared today will lead to more active co-productions and cooperation between countries, contributing to securing competitiveness in each country's broadcast content industry.
